Evaluate an AI agency’s integration capability

Check destination behavior, reconciliation, and interface ownership before accepting a connector claim.

The practical answer

Evaluate integration capability by asking what happens at the business destination, including failures and uncertain outcomes. A connector logo establishes little about the exact actions, permissions, and recovery behavior your workflow needs. Request a scoped integration plan and representative tests that show how records remain consistent across the systems involved.

Specify the exact operation

Replace a broad requirement such as CRM integration with the records, fields, and permitted actions involved. Identify how the system finds the correct record and which application remains authoritative. Ask whether the required interface is available in your actual account and configuration. A vendor may have experience with a product while still needing to investigate the particular capability your process depends on.

Inspect partial completion

Consider a request that updates one system and fails before updating another. Ask how the application detects that condition and who resolves it. A retry can be appropriate, but repeating an operation blindly can produce duplicate or conflicting business work. The agency should explain how it distinguishes a rejected operation from one whose result is unknown and how staff can inspect the destination state.

Check interface and credential ownership

Document who provisions the connection, approves its permissions, and maintains it when a provider changes behavior. Use separate test arrangements where appropriate and follow the organization’s access process. NIST’s secure development framework supports asking about secure software lifecycle practices; our practical recommendation is to make each external dependency and responsible owner visible in the implementation brief.

Require end-to-end acceptance

Test from the initiating request through the accepted destination record, including an exception and a denied action. Agentix enterprise integration work can connect this evidence to the employee workflow. Keep the results with the handover artifacts so support staff know what was verified. If the agency cannot access the required interface before selection, make that feasibility question an explicit early milestone instead of treating it as settled.

Common questions

Is an existing connector enough?

Only if it supports the required operations and authority boundaries in your environment. Verify the actual behavior and the maintenance arrangement, including limits the connector does not handle.

Can browser automation replace an API?

It may be an option in some environments, but assess reliability, access, provider rules, and recovery carefully. Require evidence for the specific workflow rather than treating all connection methods as interchangeable.
